Musical Influences

Guitarists

3. Mark Tremonti-He played guitar for bands; Creed and Alterbridge. Both bands plays Christian Alternative music. Most people never really liked him for some reasons. Maybe because he guitar solo less often. But for me, he's ideas in music are good. You can prove it with their records. He commonly use drop D and uses a Paul Reed Smith guitar.

2. Steve Vai- One of Joe Satriani's student. Former Whitesnake Lead Guitar... Yes, I do believe that all guitarist has their own unique style in playing, but Vai's is a bit...you know "Immortal". He never ran out of new material, you cannot make him play without a whammy bar, when I listened to him, it felt like I'm not worthy to hold a guitar anymore. For me, he can beat anyone who's brave enough to challenge him in a guitar battle onstage. Batio, Malmsteen, Gilbert, Li, even Buckethead won't stand a chance.

1. Wes Borland- I'm the kind of guitar player who likes heavy guitar riffs so,, so much, and Borland is the one who posses the talent to create great and majestic riffs. Not only the cool sounds which made him famous, but the way he dress and the performs onstage. The crowd loved that.
When he left Limp Bizkit, LB has never succeeded like they did before with Borland's unmatched skills. Wes also played the guitar for Marilyn Manson after he left Limp Bizkit but not for long. Now, he's back with his old buddies and doing some great stuff. He totally rocks.

Bassists
Note: I'm not really into Bass Playing but here's 3 of my favorites. All of them are nu-metal band bass players I guess=]

3. Ryan Martinie- Simple bass players do not always include tapping in their basslines. But this freaking maggot Mudvayne Bassist can't stand simple picking and slapping techniques. You''ll always see his two hands on the neck tapping most parts of the song.

2. Sam Rivers- If you saw a bassist who has glow in the dark sticker in his fretboard markers, no doubt, it's Limp Bizkit's Sam Rivers. His materials are not so hard to play. But what's amazing is the way he played them with hard headbanging, together with some kind of cool body movement.

1. Fieldy- A bass guitar should obviously sound like a bass guitar right? Not much with this guy. He makes percussive bass sounds with the help of some cool effects. He never sticks on a single technique, you'll notice it in Korn's live performances. He's hand position changes in every part of the song. Cool huh?

Drummers

3. Travis Barker- Blink 182, Box Car Racer, and Plus 44. These are the 3 amazing bands where Barker played the drums. He has an amazing snare drumming talent. Cymbals are sometimes torn when he hits it. He even had an arm injury. His patterns are easy but really tasteful. And his tattoos are cool too. lolz.

2. Lars Ulrich- The man who created Metallica, one of the best Metal bands of all time. His drum lines are a bit tricky in a sense that they have lots of rest and cuts My favorite Metallica song where I think he played best is Nothing else matters. Slow but soul full drumming. Really one of the best.

1. Zac Farro- Honestly, I don't know anything about this guy, but when I started listening to Paramore, I ended up playing his drum fills. They are very simple, a starter drummer can play them. But what I really like about his playing is the combinations. He can make an easy roll or pattern sounds like no other drumline can replace it in the song. For me, he's a genius.

Others
Bryan Adam's Unplugged when I was in Grade 4 was the one who really pushed me into guitar playing. While Ely Buendia is a Pinoy rock legend who influenced most of the Filipino musicians today. Tom Morello, a guitarist who creates amazing guitar sounds no one can ever do. He can even make his guitar sounds like a harmonica, turntable, or laser gun. Flea is a crazy bassist, and he's one of the God's in this business. Dimebag Darrel, a guitarist who creates out of this world guitar licks. A Pantera fan killed him while having a gig with his new band Damageplan in a bar.
One of the most influencial drummer is Joey Jordison from Slipknot, he's fast, hes furious and he plays the guitar for MurderDolls. Jason Mraz, hhhmmmmmm, Mr Geek in the pink, great acoustic artist. he's songs are very famous, he's lyrics are really tight, This man deserves some respect. And finally, Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater. Never mess with this guy. He's born to play the drums, nothing more outside of that. He is the world's best drummer. Not Neil Peart or anyone. Portnoy is untoucheable.
Period...
